FORT STANTON, AN ILLUSTRATED HISTORY
(Legacy of honor, tradition of healing)

The illustrated history of the Fort is now in the second edition, available in both paper-back and hard cover. Lynda says "There are 230 pages and almost that many images, historic and contemporary photos and drawings, all in color or sepia tones. Innumerable historic photos that have never been published before are included, thus adding to the growing photographic records. David L. Tremblay, my partner, has done a magnificent job of photographing, scanning and providing technical advice. There are 8 chapters and a zinger of an introduction by famed English author, Frederick Nolan of Lincoln County War fame. Other contributors include Jay Smith (Director of the Hubbard Museum of the American West) and NPS historian and author Bob Utley as well as many oral history interviews from folks that grew up at the Fort. Each chapter represents a specific time period and it is hoped that this book will inspire others to continue the research and preserving archives so that each era will one day have its own history and archaeological record, written by dedicated individuals wishing to explore the fascinating details of this awesome site."
